Marisa Cockrell is the liaison for Gamecock Productions between marketing, sports information, ticketing, compliance, and the Gamecock Club. She also serves as the main contact for women's basketball, oversees all video production needs for the women's team, and supervises the student production assistant program. The student production assistance program offers a 100% hands-on learning experience for students, allowing them to take on projects including but not limited to team intros, hype videos, marketing in-game elements, features, banquet videos, and on-camera experiences. For the past seven years, the program has had a 100% success rate for graduating PA's, to earn a full-time position in the field within 3 months of graduation. This past year, the program revamped its teaching techniques to include students teaching students (under staff supervision).
Prior to coming to South Carolina in 2011, Cockrell held positions with the Kutztown University Athletics Department (she organized their first live basketball production in 10 years), MLB Network, NFL Films (producer's department), and the Philadelphia Phillies Organization (camera operator).
Cockrell holds a M.S. degree in electronic media from Kutztown University. She earned dual undergraduate degrees at Kutztown University — a B.S. in electronic media/public relations and a B.A. in english/professional writing. Cockrell is married to a retired Army Captain and is a mom to a three year old.
