Chris Babb joined the faculty at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AK, in the fall of 2019 as an instructor in the Rogers Department of Communications and director of student sports media productions.

The student sports media production program branded itself as the Ouachita Sports Digital Network, a co-curricular program which works alongside the Ouachita Baptist Athletic Department, a member of the Great American Conference in NCAA Division II. OSDN has averaged 110 student-produced live broadcasts over its four years.

OSDN provides students opportunities in all aspects of live broadcast production and various other productions. OSDN and the Rogers Department also work with various local high schools to find students opportunities in broadcasting and journalism covering local high school athletics. OSDN students have also worked with the Great American Conference in producing conference and national productions.

Babb also established partnerships between OSDN and various regional and national organizations and media outlets, providing students opportunities in a variety of media relations, journalism, and broadcasting opportunities while in college.

Previously, Babb served as the sports information director at Ouachita from 2001 – 2006 before moving into the alumni and development office at the university until 2011. He then entered the athletic administration profession, serving as the athletic director for the Arkadelphia Public School District from 2011 – 2018. Babb served one year in 2018 – 2019 as the communications director for the school district before returning to Ouachita in his current role.

Babb graduated from Ouachita Baptist in 1999, where he served as a student assistant in the Sports Information Office for four years. He holds Masters degrees from Henderson State University in sports administration and teaching. Babb and his family live in Arkadelphia, AK.
