Doug Schantz is the senior director of field production for CNN where he oversees photojournalists in all 13 bureau cities across the U.S. He recently added the CNN Air team to his organization. CNN Air is CNN’s drone program which includes two full-time pilots and almost 100 licensed drone operators from around CNN.

Schantz joined CNN in 1994 and was an award-winning photojournalist and editor before moving into management. While in the field he covered most major headlines of the last 20 years from wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to U.S. Politics and natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina and the Tsunami in Japan.
