Eric Frey joined Virginia Tech’s HokieVision in April of 2018 as assistant AD of ACC Network Operations. He oversees ACC Network and ESPN digital and linear broadcasts that originate from Virginia Tech’s control rooms. Frey is Virginia Tech’s lead director for digital and linear broadcasts for ESPN. He works alongside a talented staff that produces more than 100 broadcasts each year.
Prior to returning to his alma mater, Frey spent four years at the University of Arkansas as the senior production manager of SEC Network Operations. He also previously worked at Florida State University and the University of Illinois. Frey is a proud 2004 graduate of Western Illinois University’s Department of Broadcasting and Journalism and also earned a graduate degree from Virginia Tech in 2007.
Frey is also the 2023 SVG College Summit Chairperson.
