Jeff Hanel joined The University of Texas Athletics Creative Development staff in August of 2021 as director, creative video. He was promoted to assistant athletics director, video production in 2023.

Hanel oversees the creative video staff and is currently overseeing Texas’ transition to bringing videoboard productions and SEC Network/ESPN broadcasts internally. All videoboard, linear, and digital broadcasts will originate from the soon-to-be four centralized control rooms that are scheduled to be online in June 2024.

Prior to returning to his home state of Texas, Hanel spent seven years at Auburn University as the director of post-production and helped with their transition to the SEC network. He also previously worked at Baylor University and Northwestern State University. Hanel is a proud 2004 graduate of The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
