Prior to taking the job at her alma mater, Gerfin spent two years learning the ropes of live sports production at Georgia Tech, where she served as video operations assistant. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in media arts in May 2013, and in May 2022 she completed her Master of Sport and Entertainment Management to become a two-time USC graduate.
As an undergraduate student, Gerfin was presented with a Sports Video Group College Sports Media Award for Outstanding Promotion, PSA, or Video Marketing Campaign in the Collegiate Student category for her work on the 2013 South Carolina Softball intro video. She is proud to serve as a member of the 2023 SVG College Summit Advisory Committee ten years later.
