Veteran live sports director Mark Grant reached the pinnacle of his accomplished career this year when he worked at the front bench of the 2023 NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four and the National Championship Game for CBS Sports. In doing so, he also became the first person-of-color to direct a major American sports television championship on television. The back-to-back National Champion Georgia Bulldogs and MV SportsCom implemented a new state-of-the-art communications system prior to the Bulldogs winning two consecutive championships. The communication system is deployed for coach to coach, coach to booth, as well as throughout their home stadium. The Sun Belt Conference, who features 14 institutions across 10 states, had a mission to provide live coverage of their championship events for 18 different sponsored sports.
